RSOM is a collection of ActiveX components allowing client applications to send and receive
messages from NonStop™ servers and provides ancillary services to convert between
Windows® and NonStop™ data formats.
RSOM enables communication between client applications and Web servers running on Windows®
systems and Pathway application servers running on NonStop™ Servers. In a
three-tiered application architecture, any Web browser on any platform can access NonStop™-
based data through an RSOM-enabled Web server.
RSOM combined with HP NonStop™ Remote Server Call/MP and NonStop™
Server systems creates a high-performance, dependable, and scalable
foundation for building e-commerce and e-business applications.
Your competitive advantage:
- Integrates state-of-the-art Web technologies with legacy Pathway
applications using component base engineering
- Quick and easy development of Web based front-ends to Pathway applications
using RSOM in combination with ActiveX development tools like Visual
Basic, Visual C++, and Active Server Pages
- Automatically converts PC-formatted data elements to NonStop™ server
format so client applications work with existing Pathway servers without
changes
- All application code is stored on the server eliminating the need
to install or update client software on individual workstations
Performance
- Easy integration with state of the art Web technologies
- Rapid development of Internet / Intranet applications
